What Is and Was "The Satanic Panic"?

Back in the early 1980's, it wasn't unusual for me and my friends to be dropping religious propoganda tracts by Jack Chick anywhere we could. One evening, a few of us were holding a bonfire at a friend's place, burning his Dungeons & Dragons paraphenilia. Back then, we were reading fantasy books by Frank Peretti concerning angels and Daemons being ever present everywhere and believing that backwards masking in music was a real thing.

QAnon truly is yet another ridiculous movement as is the cult of personality that is comprised of MAGA Trump supporters. If I learned anything from 2 1/2 years of intense indocrination within the Word of Faith Movement under a local self-proclaimed prophet, it is just how easy it is to blindly follow someone who seems wise and seems to know more than most people- whether they actually do or not.

It's far to easy to believe everything that a charismatic teacher says and is even easier when fear mongering and fear of change rule the day. Sometimes, even fear of being controlled by governments and of advanced technology, further adds fuel to our modern bonfire. It's so important to really think for yourself and to never believe anything that is clearly based on fear. Even an Incarnate- even the Antichrist- could get wrapped up in conspiracy theories. If you read or hear anything that sounds like a conspiracy theory or is being pushed by someone attempting to sound like a champion of the peoples, be wary.
